Back to the early 20th century, Maurice Vacheron started producing wines in this one hectare of vines located in Sancerre. His son, Jean, continued his father’s work and he subsequently enlarged the ownership with 3 hectares of additional vines planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Later on, the next generation didn’t stop carrying on the development of the vineyard since 1965, producing red and white Sancerre from the excellent terroirs.
Since 2004, the vinyard has been certified in organic and biodynamic agriculture. Today, Jean-Laurent Vacheron and his family cultivates 47 hectares of vines altogether surrounding Sancerre. The white and red wines produced all come from the soils of flint and limestone.
