The world of wine is often seen as a symphony of aromas and flavours, a delicate dance between land, climate and ancestral know-how. In the heart of the Bordeaux region, the Cheval Blanc wine estate, formerly run by the Hébrard family, embodies this harmony with unrivalled elegance, offering U'wine customers the opportunity to enjoy bottles of rare nobility.

Cheval Blanc: from 19th-century elegance to modern excellence

Founded in the 19th century, the origins of Cheval Blanc date back to 1832, when Jean-Jacques Ducasse, a wine merchant, acquired part of the estate. Over the decades, the vineyard was extended and perfected by generations of passionate owners, including Jacques Hébrard, grandfather of Thomas Hébrard, founder of U'wine. It was under his direction that a vast cellar, topped by a reception room, was built, but it was also thanks to him that bottling at the château became possible as early as 1974.

Renowned for producing one of the most refined and sought-after wines in the world, Cheval Blanc has always been an emblem of elegance and quality in the world of wine. It has preserved its heritage while innovating, consolidating Cheval Blanc's reputation as one of Bordeaux's great wine houses. For reasons of succession, Dominique Hébrard, then co-owner of the estate, sold the property in 1998 to Baron Albert Frère and Bernard Arnault.

An exceptional terroir

Situated on the Saint-Émilion plateau, the vineyards benefit from clay-limestone soil and ideal exposure to the sun. These unique geographical conditions contribute to the optimal ripening of the grapes, producing wines of unrivalled finesse and intensity. Unlike most Bordeaux wineries, Cheval Blanc stands out for its unique blend of grape varieties, with Cabernet Franc taking pride of place. Combined with Merlot and other grape varieties, the Cabernet Franc gives the wine exceptional aromatic complexity and elegant structure.

The art of winemaking

Cheval Blanc stands out for its meticulous approach to winemaking. Each stage, from harvesting to ageing in oak barrels, is carried out with extreme care to preserve the most authentic expression of the terroir. Wooden vats, delicate macerations and meticulously controlled fermentations all contribute to creating wines of rare elegance. The constant search for a balance between tradition and innovation is reflected in the estate's agricultural and oenological practices.

Cheval Blanc x U'wine: a prestigious choice

Rooted in a centuries-old history, celebrating an exceptional terroir and guided by a relentless quest for perfection, Cheval Blanc continues to captivate wine lovers the world over. To own, taste and enjoy a Cheval Blanc is to own a piece of history, a legacy of the art of winemaking handed down from generation to generation.

As fervent defenders of the accessibility of great wines at U'wine, the presence of the Cheval Blanc estate at the heart of our history is echoed in the exceptional legacy of Thomas Hébrard, proudly offering bottles of this prestigious estate to our wine enthusiasts.
