Château Les Grandes Murailles
The Cuvelier family, owners of Clos Fourtet and Château Poujeaux, acquired two Grands Crus Classés, including Château Les Grandes Murailles, located in the heart of Saint-Emilion. This small two-hectare property stands at the foot of the remarkable “Great Wall”, a ruin of a 12th century Dominican monastery that still resists the vagaries of history. The harvest is manual and the cellar is located in the “quarries” in the basement, under the vines. In addition, the vinification is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and the fermentation takes place in barrels. This Grand Cru Classé of Saint Emilion has proven to be very regular. It combines great density, elegance and flexibility, offering a powerful and surprising aromatic palette.
